View Full Version : Loop of Forged Power

So, I have a bunch of primal earth about from the old days when I was a miner. Turns out that eventually, I'll want one of these: Loop of Forged Power. So, may as well start gathering now.
Anyway, I hear most JCs who prospect end up vendoring the powder. Now, I have the primal earth, so I'd like to work out a mutually beneficial deal where I buy 48 powder from you for more than a vendor, and you create some Mercurial Adamantite for me.
So, anyone do any prospecting?
Edit: Changed title, since we got kinda derailed. :)
Leriin has this recipe! I have all the mats together, sunmotes will be the bottleneck of course.

I do. I will hold on to what I get from here on out.

I have it on hand already, Deliann. You're welcome to it.

I could use some as well, but after Del gets what he needs. :-)

Dika and I have arranged for all that I need for now - but I think that'll wipe him out. I'd suggest poking Sylv for some. :)

I think it's pretty safe to say that anyone that plays a caster DPS in raids will at some point potentially want some, so if you're not in the need of this and are willing to help out, please save it for someone who might be.

I am essentially wiped clean on Adamantite Dust, but considering how useful these rings are, I have about 30 Primal Earths I'd be glad to contribute to the cause.
(And I'll start converting over at least some of my extra Adamantite Ore)

What other mats are you going to be in need of? Also I can transmute mights if you want to get rolling on that.

I have a feeling those Sunmotes are going to be the real bottleneck (once the pattern is available, anyway).
So... trash farming? :)

Ouch, 5 sunmotes? If the droprate is anything like Hearts of Darkness, it may be a while before we see many of these :(

Maybe there will be trash farming options in Sunwell.

Not really. From what I can tell, there are trash packs leading up to Kalecgos, but then there's no trash to Brutallus or Felmyst. So, if you want to farm, you have to leave the first boss up, kill packs and reset.

Which we could do on friday or saturday night, if we're making attempts on sunday

Bump for great justice. Or whatever.
Machtig has the ability to smelt Hardened Khorium now. Leriin has the pattern. Now, we just need sunmotes! Lots of them.

Well, Sunmotes also have the use of changing certain pieces of gear into new forms of that gear, so I imagine we'll be wanting some around for that purpose. Once we do have a supply of them I assume many casters will want this ring crafted. Keep your eyes peeled for a post regarding the use of Sunmotes as they become more available.

I have placed 15 mercurial adamantite in the trade tab of the guild bank. I didn't get any messages from anyone wanting anything else so I have gone back to selling adamantite powder.

The Sunmotes drop off the blood elf trash with a drop rate of around 7%. Roughly, I count around 8 packs of 5 guys? 4 patrols of 3 each. And 4 scouts. That's 56 guys although I may have miscounted a little.
This is going to translate to around 4 sunmotes per clear to Kalecgos (which is actually how many we pulled out this week) with a bit of variance.
I'm just working off the cuff here, but I expect we can see about 1 trash drop per night from trash. These can be transmuted into other spec drops, and a few won't be, but I think it's important to fairness and sanity that people can expect that they can put in a tell on a transmutable item and get a sunmote to transform it. Once we get Kalecgos down and start getting 'real loot' this amount will increase.
Let's assume that we will eventually consume two sunmotes per clear for this (for Kalecgos and Brutalis). Then our steady state sunmote production will be 2 per raid. This is the stuff that's usable to make these rings and the other craftables.
I'd like to get a reserve of 5 soon (to be able to serve transmutes), and then eventually a reserve of 10 (to be able to serve transmutes and emergency crafting which costs 5-6).
I'd like to get our first ring crafted soon, though. We don't have enough total yet though. Let's see how many motes we have after the next clear and take it as it comes. Should be treated the same way as vortices loot, but until we get some more data in our sample set, it's hard to see how quickly we can churn these out!

There is many, many things that will be wanted to be crafted that need sunmotes. :( It would be nice if they had a better drop rate.

hehe you could do what we do w/ sunwell on tichondrius.. get 6 mages and just sheep all the trash and kill one at a time and farm sunmotes =D yes it sucks, and yes its boring, but you get between 3 and 8 a clear up to kalecos

Actually, I've heard the most efficient way is not to even clear to Kalecgos... just leave one mob sheeped in the first room, and run out to reset the pack. :)
Kaylua

that way works too. and its probably more efficient, since you don't have to wait for a respawn from the first packs.

Hello,
Would you be willing to craft one of these rings for an evil lock on the Horde side? I have all mats, and will tip nicely =)

Absolutely, as long as you have all the mats. Tipping is appreciated, but not required--it'll go into the guild bank where it'll fuel repairs.
Private message me and we'll work out details.
