Food for raids (buff foods)

I have maxed out my cooking (as have alot of people I assume... i can't be the only ones) and can make the following (three groups) which can help the raids...

* 12 stamina 12 spirit "Well fed" food
"Tender Wolf Steak"
Kill high level (45+ the higher the better) wolves... get "Tender Wolf Meat".
"Spiced Chili Crab"
Kill level 40-44 crabs for "Tender Crab Meat"
"Monster Omelet"
kill high level birds (50+) for "Giant Egg"
"Spider Sausage"
White spider meat... kill spiders 45+
"Heavy Kodo Stew"
kill the kodos in desolace

* 6 health every 5 seconds (for warlocks and tanks)
"Poached Sunscale Salmon"
fish in ashazara... or other high level places during the day
(drops at night also... but more during the day)

* 8 mana every 5 seconds (for casters)
"Nightfin Soup"
fish same places for the sunscale... but at night


I can't make the dire maul +10 int food... nobody takes me to DM (sad kitty)

and i don't think the "Dragonbreath Chili" would be helpfull in a raid... but who knows...

and... i can make "Savory Deviate Delight"... but need to fish in WC for the fish.

Basically... these are extra buffs that can help... but farming for 40 people is a pain in the... tookass... so if other peopel can help fish/kill/farm for the ookign materials ... we can get come more food going.

of the 12 sta/spi items... i find that the wolf steak is the easiest to farm and get... doggies die fast

You forgot Grilled Squid, which is a +10 agility item, good for hunters and rogues. I'm pretty sure I remember this as a food item that stacks with other food items, so that you can get both this and the sta/spi buff.

I haven't seen any winter squid all summer-- fancy that! -- but I assume they'll be back in season soon!

One thing to be aware of, if you have a +8 stam food like Hot Wolf Ribs and eat a Glossy Mightfish (+10 stam) they can stack. If you eat a +12 stam food like the Tender Wolf Steaks, they do not. So for super chowing down, the two together are better.

There are also a few foods that give you their buff immedietly and have no timer for eating like most. Mightfish, suncale salmon, nightfin soup and bass do this.

Although stam food lasts 15 minutes, the "special" fish/tubers do not. Grilled squid, hot smoked bass, nightfin soup, sunscale salmon, mightfish steak, and Runn Tum Tuber Surprise only last 10 minutes.

Foods I farm and make:

Run a lot of DM or BRD and the dogs drop a LOT of the components for these. Also, the dogs in Felwood drop the ribs and steaks, so if you are trying for Felwood plant salve stuff you can farm your wolves there. Honestly, I think every high end map has wolves that drop this stuff!
Hot Wolf Ribs (+8 stam/spirit)
Tender Wolf Steak (+12 stam/spirit)

Gone for the summer, back at the equinox. Best place I found was Feathermoon areas. Not sure about Bay of Storms as I had never been there when these were out.
Grilled Squid (+10 agility)

The two places I fish for these are Feralas and Hinterlands. I haven't found any difference in the drop rate between the two and Hinterlands is closer to IF. Be aware that around 2 o'clock is peak for day/night fish. If you fish in the morning or early evening (twilight) you get a mixture of both fish. If you do not want "trash" fish (fish with no buff), then you can go to Winterspring and use a +100 lure. You get those stupid Lightening Eels and armorfish but a little higher rate of nightfins/salmons.
Nightfin soup (8 mana/5 sec)
Poached Sunscale Salmon (6 health/5 sec)

These are salt water fish and must be fished on the coast. Tanaris/Feathermoon is okay, but not as good a drop rate as Bay of Storms. If you swim out to an island in Bay of Storms where you require a lure to fish, you get the Stonescale eels at a GREAT rate, so that is where I usually fish for these. Harder areas do not have raw Mightfish, they only have the Mightfish steaks which are more expensive to make.
Glossy Mightfish (+10 stam)
Hot Smoked Bass (+10 spirit)
Stonescale eels (Potensa will love you for sending these!)
Mightfish Steak (+10 stam)

In Dire maul, AlWAYS check the seedpods. What you are looking for is Runn Tum Tuber. I hear that the damn stealthers can harvest these by going in the instance and sneaking to seed pods. I can cook these but have no use for them, so you can send your raw tubers to me and I will send them back cooked into yummyness.

the healers would want the +12 for the spirit, while the warriors and rogues woudl want the +18 stamina and +8 spirit combo

I love to fish too....but got so focused on leveling to 60 lost track of it. Now that Im 60 Im trying to work on a bunch of things...fishing is one of them. Ive only gotten to 176 so far but plan on picking up some 100 lures and heading out. Whats best spot for that level of fishing? 200ish or more.

I'll be heading to some of them. (particularly for some eels)

Wolves and eggs, best place is hinterlands. Wolves and owlbeasts, and you get a bit of cash along the way.

Oh, I can cook most of the above stuff as well, except the deviate fish.

Okay, I don't know when this changed, but apparently I am very very wrong about the +8 and +10 stam foods stacking. The icons are both there but the actual Stam attribute is not modified by both. Just the +10 buff applies.

Windblossom Berries

Cooked Glossy Mightfish

My numbers and test cases as of this morning (patch 1.7):
Base Stam: 359
Stam with just berry: 369 (+10)
Stam with berry then steak: 371 (+12, only well fed icon appears)
Stam with berry then ribs: 369 (+10, both icons appear)
Stam with ribs and then berry: 369 (+10, both icons appear)
Stam with mightfish and then ribs: 369 (+10, both icons appear)

Moral of the story, bah, no cheaty exploits for me!

i know in the 1.6.1 the spirit stacked from blessed sunfruit, alterac valley water, and wolf steak (+12, +10, +10 = +32 spirit)

i will test it with the current 1.7.0 patch... might have been a stealth nerf

I did a test for spirit (not care much about stamina)

Bottled Alterac Spring Water - 10
Kreeg's Stout Beatdown - 25
Crystal Force - 30 (this does not stack with Divine Spirit)

in this order (don't know if order matters... but this is how i did it)

blessed sun fruit

stomper kreeg
crytal force
tender wolf steak

I got the full effect of all of the items... a full +103 to my spirit
